Supporting Seniors in Our Community: Workshops & Technology Help at the Boys & Girls Club

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield, in collaboration with the Stoneham Alliance Against Violence (SAAV) and the Stoneham Senior Center, are excited to offer a series of monthly workshops designed to support and empower seniors in today’s fast-paced, digital world.

What’s Available for Seniors?

Over the next few months, we are providing engaging and educational sessions focused on enhancing seniors’ well-being. These workshops will cover:

Wellness & Mindfulness – Stay active and healthy with movement-based activities like Tai Chi, designed to improve balance and relaxation.

Protection from Scams & Abuse – Learn how to recognize and avoid financial scams targeting seniors and safeguard your personal information.

T.E.C.H. (Teen Elder Computer Help) – Need help with your phone, tablet, or social media? Our local Boys & Girls Club teens will be available during open office hours to assist with technology questions, making it easier for you to stay connected.

Community Partnership & Support

Thanks to the generous support of Mystic Valley Elder Services (MVES), these programs are offered at no cost to seniors. “We are so thankful to MVES for funding this project,” says Megan Samborski, Chair of SAAV. “Bringing youth and seniors together creates a meaningful experience where both generations can learn from one another.”

By working together, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Stoneham & Wakefield, SAAV, and the Senior Center are dedicated to creating opportunities that protect, educate, and empower seniors—helping you maintain independence while staying informed and engaged in the community.
